Welcome, NEDC Embryo Recipients!

National Embryo Donation Center -- Giving Life. Giving Hope. + Embryo Donation International -- Building Families.

Embryo Donation International Welcomes National Embryo Donation Center's Patients

Expanding access to embryo donation in Southwest Florida.

Embryo Donation International (EDI) is honored to partner with the National Embryo Donation Center (NEDC) as an affiliate clinic. This partnership makes it easier for NEDC patients to receive care closer to home.

Dr. Craig Sweet, Reproductive Endocrinologist and EDI's Medical Director, has been performing embryo donation in Southwest Florida for 25 years. He created Embryo Donation International, P.L., in 2011, and is now celebrating its 15th year in practice. Dr. Sweet has devoted much of his career to helping patients grow their families through embryo donation.

EDI is committed to providing care that is safe, ethical and compassionate. EDI understands that this journey is deeply personal, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

A Welcome From Our Team

Welcome videos are coming soon. Dr. Sweet and embryo donation coordinator Pamela Strassel are preparing introductory messages for NEDC recipients.

Bringing Care Closer to You

For many families, travel can be one of the most stressful parts of fertility treatment. The collaboration between EDI and NEDC helps make the process more convenient. Patients working with NEDC can now choose to complete key steps, including medical clearance and the actual frozen donor embryo transfer (FDET) procedures at Dr. Sweet's Florida facility.

This means more families can pursue embryo donation/embryo adoption with less travel, less disruption and more comfort during an already emotional journey. Also, if embryo recipients need to travel, why not travel to beautiful Southwest Florida?

A Shared Mission: Helping Families Grow

EDI and the NEDC share a common purpose:

  • To help families who long to have a child
  • To provide high-quality, compassionate care
  • To give frozen embryos the opportunity for life
Dr. Jeffrey Keenan, President, National Embryo Donation Center

"Dr. Sweet is someone we know and respect in this field. His long-standing commitment to embryo donation, reproductive ethics, and patient care makes him an ideal partner for the NEDC. This affiliation will benefit many NEDC families in the Southeast for whom receiving treatment in Fort Myers is more convenient than traveling to Knoxville."

Dr. Craig Sweet, Medical Director, Embryo Donation International

"I am honored to partner with the NEDC and to help more families experience the joy of parenthood through embryo donation. This is a mission I have been committed to for years through EDI, and I look forward to extending that work together with the NEDC team."

Helpful Documents to Review

The following patient information documents will help you understand what to expect during your care at EDI:

Sample Consents to Review

These are example consents to help you familiarize yourself with the information. Final versions will be sent later for online signatures before you receive your donated embryos.

A note for NEDC patients: While you are free to review other parts of EDI's website, NEDC patients are matched to NEDC embryos and not EDI's. Please do not register as an embryo recipient on this website — NEDC will help match you with the donated embryos you are looking for.
