Lowry Park ZooThe Lowry Park Zoo is unique with its Florida Boardwark, the Manatee and Aquatic Center, Primate World and a sub-tropical rain forest with free-flight birds. Busch Gardens & Adventure IslandBush Gardens is a blend of thrilling rides, one of the country's premier zoos, live shows, restaurants, shops and games. It can truly be a wild ride or a photograph driven African safari. Adventure Island, which is located right across the street from Bush Gardens, has 30 acres of water park activities like no other. There is plenty to keep you busy for one or two days. Art Deco DistrictSouth Miami Beach's Art Deco District was built from 1923 to 1943. Renovated hotels where the likes of Clark Gable, Carole Lombard and Rita Hayworth hung out are within walking distance. Cafe's and restaurants abound as you drift back into the 1930's, 40's and 50's. Coral Gables/Vizcaya EstateBuilt in 1914 using materials from Italy and Spain, Coral Gables was built in the heart of Miami. Created as a special suburb of Miami, it stands out alone in the region in a class of its own. The famous Biltmore Hotel is there. If you are interested in Mediterranean architecture, be sure to visit Vizcaya. Tours are available. Golf is the sport of choice for the region. The Venetian Pool draws visitors from around the world. Many are kept in a cageless setting similar to their natural habitat. Be sure to meet the zookeeper during feedings and ask questions about your favorite animal. Walt Disney WorldWhat can be said. Walt Disney World! Whether you are a child or a child at heart, everyone loves Disney! With the theme parks the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Animal Kingdom and the Disney Hollywood Studios, there is enough to keep you busy for days. The water parks are also a blast with Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. If you have never been there, be sure to reserve some time and energy. Distance from EDI: 160 miles (approx. 3 hours) Cirque du SoleilThis is a circus show like no other you have ever seen. It is the extreme in eye candy. The acrobatics, skills are utterly amazing. You would never believe the coordination of the little children. It is described as a festive journey of the imagination. Truly unforgettable. Distance from EDI: 150 miles (approx. 3 hours) Sea WorldThe shows are amazing. The rides rival any seen in the region with Kraken and the Manta worth the trip alone. It is a good idea to plan your day so you don't miss anything you really want to see. Shamu does rock but be sure to bring a swimming suit and/or dry clothes if you are sitting in the front sections and remember most cameras are not waterproof! If you have the time, Sea World is a must to see. Distance from EDI: 155 miles (approx. 3 hours) Universal StudiosUniversal Studios is made up of two main sections, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Universal Studios emphasizes the movies including Men in Black, Terminator, E.T., Jaws and Shrek, just to name a few. Islands of Adventure has amazing rides including, Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk Coaster, Jurassic Park River Adventure, Harry Potter and Dueling Dragons. There is plenty to keep you busy for a couple of days, both young and old. Staying at one of the nearby hotels including the Royal Pacific Resort, the Hard Rock Hotel and the Portofino Bay Hotel makes the trip easier with a quick water taxi to the parks and a pass that places you to the front of many of the lines.
